Our Story

Maddison Turf is a family owned and operated business – basically an everyday family doing everyday things.

We are blessed to be living in the sunny Bay of Plenty nestled in the Lower Kaimai, fringed by native bush with the constant sound of bird song – this is my work place - 16 acres of Roll out Instant Lawn. We are situated 190 metres above sea level  our grass has been  grown and maintained in hardy conditions so when our product leaves the gate it is ready to flourish in the warm climate that the Bay has to offer.

Legend Couch Grass has been grown by us since December 2006 in partnership with Recreational Services, Auckland when both parties felt that Legend Couch Grass was a grass that is suited to the sunny Bay of Plenty, especially Mount Maunganui and Papamoa’s sandy soils and dry conditions. 

In 2008 we become fully locally owned and operated, Maddison Turf Care grew Legend Couch grass under licence to Strathayr Farms Australia. Changes in 2015 has seen the Turf Farm under redevelopment in grass varieties with Tall Fescue being our major grass variety along with some Couch.  Tall Fescue is now ready and selling from May 2016. Due to demand we set up a new Turf Farm just down the road and are currently harvesting from this in 2017. 

So here at Maddison Turf Care we grow our own turf, supply wholesale directly to landscapers and contractors. For the DIY client we offer Retail rates direct from the Farm, with the option to pick up or have delivered. We continue to offer advice on how to maintain your Instant Lawn - spraying & fertilising, however we no longer install or lay lawns we can connect you with a Landscaper or Installer to assist you with this.  Instant lawn is a great solution for all projects from commercial to residential – golf courses, sports grounds to grass in your own backyard or your kiwi batch.

We work hard and play hard that is why we like growing & supplying Couch Grass it suits our kiwi lifestyle – it’s tough and performs well!

Recently however we noticed that not everyone's needs are the same so we have currently added a Cool Season Grass Variety Tall Fescue so we can provide you a choice of Instant Lawn that best suits your climate and conditions as well as your lifestyle.

So when you need advice on your Tall Fescue, Couch or Kikuyu Lawn we know what’s going on with it as we have a lawn just the same & then another 16 acres of it!
